Dr. Lauren Power

Dr. Lauren Power is an assistant professor in the Department of Counseling, Family Therapy, and Higher Education. She serves as the internship coordinator and is core faculty for the marriage and family therapy program.

She received her Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy and her M.S./Ed.S. in mental health counseling from Florida State University.

She is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of North Carolina, a Clinical Fellow, an Approved Supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and a member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists.

Her research interests focus on the interplay between mindfulness and sexuality, particularly how trait mindfulness relates to sexual outcomes and identity.
