Dr. Christina Rosen

Dr. Christina Rosen has been a counselor educator since 2004 after graduating with her Ed.D. from the University of Cincinnati. In 2007, she arrived at the Department of Human Development and Psychological Counseling (HPC) at Appalachian State University. She is a professor and clinical field experience coordinator in the clinical mental health counseling program.

She has been trained as a spiritual director and a Gestalt Therapist. She has worked as a counselor, trainer, and supervisor since 1986. In North Carolina, she is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist, Certified Clinical Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. 

Dr. Rosen has receive many recognitions including the Ellen Barrette Award from the North Carolina Counseling Association, the RCOE Outstanding Mentor Award, the Professional Writing and/or Research Award from North Carolina Counseling Association, the Outstanding Graduate Mentor Cratis D. Williams Graduate School Award,  and appointed to the Governor's Institute on Substance Abuse for North Carolina.

She is a member the European Branch of the American Counseling Association, Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International, North Carolina Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, and Association for Counselors, Supervisors, and Educators. She serves as the co-faculty advisor of Alpha Sigma Upsilon - Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic & Professional Honor Society International.

Dr. Rosen received an HRSA grant for 285,560.00 from 2016-2018 and co-wrote one other HRSA grant for $1,574,806.00 was awarded.
